Launchpad have been in contact with Sam S. and are keen to be working closely with us. A meeting with someone from LaunchPad will be arranged in the near future for those working in the LaunchPad team with Sam S.
World Homeless Day is on 10th October (Monday) so we discussed a few ideas for what we could do to fundraise around that date – a sleep-a-thon and sleep-out were suggested as ideas. Spreading awareness/ providing information about homelessness and launchpad should also be emphasised with the fundraising.
Tads CH starting to organise running a water station at Reading Half Marathon (takes place Sunday March 19th), along with thinking about entering students for Green Park challenge and the half marathon itself. This would be a big fundraising opportunity for YoungMinds. With entering the GreenPark challenge, it requires a small entrance fee for students (around £8 we think) – when students pay for entry we could also ask for optional donations.
ToughMudder (May 7th) has had a few entries from students, and we should have a big enough team – fundraising for ToughMudder will start later in the year/ start of next year with a target of £2000 (£400 for each charity – however how we split the money can be changed)
The home clothes day organised by Seth has been counted and raised around £1100, which although is a great amount of money it is much less than previous home clothes day suggesting many people didn’t donate – in future we will have to rethink how we take in donations to ensure maximum donations, such as getting form tutors to collect money
We plan to set up donation boxes outside the LRC and Refectory for the 3 acting charities (Rainedge, YoungMinds, and whichever term charity is currently fundraising) – in order to collect loose change to add to our totals
The website has now been added to the school website, and can be found in the Support section
JustGiving pages are planned to be set-up soon by Smit, and will hopefully be up and running by half-term
